Perception can be everything...

(A repost from March 2008 and still so applicable!)

*************************************************************************

Okay, I wish I had taken a picture to show how FULL my sink was this morning (with dirty dishes!). I sighed because there was just no time to get this stuff caught up. I had a board meeting last night that I was cooking for, orthodontist, and dentist appointments--not to mention the aforementioned weekend drama of leaking faucets and bathroom floor holes...blah, blah, blah--but truly real things that kept me from getting this caught up.

I got such a kick out of Jackson's response to it. He goes, "Awwwwesommme!!" And I asked why he was saying that, and he goes, "Because I have NEVER seen so many dishes in our sink before. That is SO cool!!" I'm getting tickled by it all over again now...as I type next to a much emptier sink and clean counters. Sigh of relief now...

It's so funny. Life really is lived out of our perceptions more than reality. I was thinking today that Truth is available to us all, and no matter what we do, we can't/won't change Truth. But we don't all live out of the reality of Truth--we live out of our perception of it. There are so many confused people with whom we come into contact with daily. My prayer and passion is that God would use me, beginning in my own home and with my own children, to be an instrument for His use to dispense and deliver Truth, spoken in bold and courageous and compassionate love.

That's my little bloggy bit for the day...Now, back to cleaning (which is not my spiritual gift by the way, so pray for me!).

Reading this again this morning, three whole years later, and thinking how applicable it still is to my life.

I wonder... How have your perceptions impacted your reality?
