Be Strong and of Good Courage!
“That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of,
fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the
inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [[a]
with those of the elders at your ordination].
7For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven
and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of
power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and
discipline and self-control.”
2 Timothy 1:6-7: (Amplified)
Nothing in life remains without enthusiasm; be it great or small, positive or negative. What you feed on comes out of you. God knew that, and His word says (Phil 4:8) Feed on good things, things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, THINK, FEED on these things.
Remember God did not give us a spirit of fear, timidity, cowardice; but of power, which exemplifies strength, confidence (IN HIM), love and a strong mind which encompasses knowing whose you are yet not abusing the strength you possess in HIM. A strong mind is vibrant, alert, BALANCED, disciplined, not too hard not too easy, but just, fair and practices self control. Notice God did not require perfection but He does ask us to follow certain criteria. He admonishes us (Rom 12:2) (YOU) be not CONformed (to make similar in form, nature, or character) but (YOU) be TRANSformed, (to undergo a change in form, appearance, or character); changed which requires our effort.
Just as parents teach their children to make wise decisions in life and when they are of age to make decisions on their own, it makes a parent very proud to see their offspring making wise decisions. I believe it makes God very proud of us, His children, when we make wise decisions as well. We must do all we can, wisely, with balance and then allow God to do what only He can in our lives.
Our difficulties are God's opportunity. His strength is perfect when our strength is gone, exhausted. He does what we cannot do. But we must make WISE CHOICES, we must do our part believing His word is His bond and He will do what we trust and believe Him to do. Howbeit we have heard this many times but its outcome will produce one of two things:
1. We must trust that if God comes through for us, our faith and
trust is strengthened,
2. However if He doesn't come through, especially in the way we think He
should, be confident He's working in your favor; You are made
stronger in Him and It will either be a blessing (to you) or a lesson (for
you).
It will always be a Win-Win situation. He is God, He is the greatest, there's nothing too hard for Him. He is the strongest, the mightiest, He is all knowing meaning He knows EVERYthing but He wants us to trust Him to be God regardless of the outcome. (Jer 29:11) God already knows what He has planned for you, thoughts of peace, meaning whatever gives you peace, and not of evil, He will never harm you, to give you an expected end, to give you a future filled with hope. He is anxious to show His awesomeness. Allow Him to shine in you and go in confidence in Him.
