So, I had lunch with a friend today who also happens to be in women's ministry. We ate high-class, McDonald's style, since I had my personal assistant (AKA the Brown-eyed Boy Wonder) with me. (I'm SO glad they have smoothies now!)
Anyhow, the conversation was all about women's ministry, what women today want from those in leadership and whether women tend to be more competitive with other women than men are with other men (who work in the same field). Perhaps it's because we're women and we've both experienced this so much that we think it happens among women more than it happens with the guys, but I wonder if any of you happening upon this post might want to weigh in.
Now don't get me wrong: many of my closest friends and confidantes are other women who are also in ministry; women who totally have my back and know that I have theirs as well. But the unfortunate fact remains that ALL of us have felt this competitive pull from other women who also lead ministries.
So, I'm curious: what do you think--are women more competitive with other women than men are with other men or is it about the same?
There are no wrong answers or insights, so don't be shy. You won't be graded on this. ;-)
